A Marvelous May

Been through this month with a festive mood. May’s definitely my fave! The 31 jolly days of journeys will be compiled in this brief entry :D

8/5
Went to Surabaya (it’s my very 1st time) as a delegate of UGM─since Tourism UGM is a member of HMPI*─ to attend Majapahit Travel Fair.
Thank you for the opportunity to visit Surabaya in three days and to build many new acquaintances there! Gotta plan to tripping there in other time, since I had no chance to explore Surabaya properly, heheh  :)

*)HMPI : Himpunan Mahasiswa Pariwisata Indonesia-Tourism Student Association of Indonesia

Then, in the 10th of May which is moi birth date is not a very special day but thank you for the early morning callers and all the greetings and wishes! A very, very thank you too for the gifts and cake! Also the letters… :)

15/5
Went to Borobudur in a cold, foggy night. Yes I went there on 2 a.m! For the sake of seeing the lantern-releasing session. But it was worth the wait, Borobudur stands ravishingly under the light (at that time, it was really gloomy so the moon was hiding) and the lanterns…whoah!
I was so excited since that was my first time visiting a temple at night! So magical :)

17/5
Me with the whole HIMAPA (Student Association of Tourism) went to Twilight Forest that lies in Imogiri. its on the very west of Yogyakarta. The purpose is….. Photoshoot Session!

on our way home, we stopped by the beach and having a seafood dinner, a very cheap one!

24/5
me and Wikan were attending Passion, to see Payung Teduh’s performance! Just so you know, we both were so excited esp since we haven’t seen Payung Teduh lively before. Beside Payung Teduh, there were Sheila On 7 too yay. 50K was worth it all I guess :)
We sat in tribune seat, quite far from the stage but it’s okay as long as I could sit cozily and watch the performances comfortably (festival area doesn’t suit me well)

30/5
Me and 3 other fellas─Sesa, Ditya and Hilal went to Prambanan Temple and Ratu Boko Palace, in order to accomplish Mr. Popi assignment, surveying by distributing questionnaire then compiled them into a paper
(Oh just fyi, it's my first time too for Prambanan)
We went to Ratu Boko Palace afterwards. Here's some tips :
- buy a Prambanan-Boko one way ticket to save more! Only 45k, includes a shuttle bus :) ( If you get the ticket separately, it costs 30k for Prambanan and 25k for Ratu Boko)
- the best time to visit Ratu Boko Palace is in the evening! Ratu Boko is famous as a great spot for seeing the sun sets. Been there twice and Ratu Boko always fascinates me. In my opinion, Ratu Boko is the cleanest, the most tidy and the most picturesque temple amongst the other that I've been to. Also, it provides plenty benches and gazebos for resting your foot after strolling 'round this vast temple.

Anyway, what makes me even happier is : I’m begin to paint again :) already equipped myself with nü painting stuffs. Just like what Ayang Cempaka said, “It’s always great to see flowers in my table” . I knew right, let’s make some flowers!

The last, I got a good news that I am accepted as L.O for Jogja International Heritage Walk this October, yaaay! Alhamdulillah :)

p.s : sorry for few photos which aren't available yet. They'll be posted soon! (as soon as the photographer mail 'em)
